Must-Have Monday: October Makeup Edition

October is the season of reinvention for me. Maybe it's the perfect time to see the trends, think about what you keep pinning and break out of your style rut in a whole new way. This October, try reaching for unusual shades, blazing metallics and the latest beauty tech available.

I bought this palette thinking I would never remember to use it and instead, I've ended up wearing it several times per week. I didn't think reds, plums and oranges would work with my coloring and I was so wrong. I'm guessing everyone else feels the same, as stock is low at both Sephora and Ulta. The shadows are beautiful, the brush isn't going to set the world on fire, but you'll end up wearing this more than most other palettes. Grab it while you can.

Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Chill Zone by Smashbox is another product I never thought would be wearable. It's a cool, deep gray liquid lipstick that seems better in a b&w  photo than the office. After applying it with my finger to sheer out the shade, even my Mom said it was surprisingly pretty.

Sometimes the gleam of shadow is just beyond and I can't stop thinking how it dances in the light.

The latest shadow to catch my attention is the Copper Foil, from the NudeStix Magnetic Eye Collection.

Of course, the opposite is a glorious complement, so add a little Army to really make the copper blaze. It's the most perfect fall green/brown shade. It's really cool toned, but not quite black. It's the perfect smudge color, when black is too much and brown is too boring.

Brushes aren't just brushes anymore, you know? No longer are they just cut in different shapes to apply makeup. Now the bristles are infused with new technology that includes skincare with each sweep of the brush. Do we need it? I don't know. But wow, does it feel amazing on the skin!

It Cosmetics, CC+ Skin Perfecting Brush #702 / $48.00

Finally, I'm so impressed with this powder foundation from bareMinerals; it's easier to apply, looks amazing and wears until you take it off. If you think you dislike the brand or powder foundations, things have changed. Don't be the last one to realize how awesome this is. It's available in thirty shades, so no excuses! Check out my buildability test here, if you missed it last week!
