Makeup Wars: Best Single Shadow Look

This Makeup Wars is a tricky one. My favorite color of solo shadow? No crease? No highlight? Just one quick sweep of shadow? That's tricky. I love the look of a sheer lid, a smoked out liner look and the idea of an iridescent taupe will always haunt my dreams (I am not sure I've found the perfect one yet).

My go to color for a single shadow look is something shiny, flesh-colored and really simple. Sure, you can smudge Tarte Cream Shadow Sticks (grab them NOW - they are marked down to $8!) for a really quick smokey look, but right now, I love the clean look of a simple sheen to the eye. Add a little eyeliner in a purple or blue and you've got a really pretty, really simple look that takes 2 minutes.

My favorite powder shadow for this is easily Sephora's Mirror Ballet Shoes. Sadly, they look like they are phasing this one out, so grab it before it's gone. I also ADORE the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadows for this purpose. My favorite is Playa Del Pink. A little goes a long way. Both of these will bring your eyes to life instantly!

  1. The Josie Maran looks really similar to the Revlon Photo Ready Eye Art in Topaz Twinkle. I wonder if it's a dupe? Either way it's really pretty!
