The self-titled Fiona Stiles makeup line is now hitting the shelves at select Ulta locations. The brand is out of online-only jail near me and I snagged a few items to share with you. While I think I'm in love with her weird little eye jelly round squares, her lipsticks are equally exciting to add to your spring and summer makeup bags.
Hydrashine Essential Lip Color, a basic looking lipstick in a most unusual formula. Meant to hydrate lips while drenching them in sheer color, this lipstick seems almost too good to be true. I purchased Louella, a warm rose, to test.
The shade itself is a lovely your-lips-but-better-color (if you are fair and look like me, that is). However, the color is incredibly buildable yet sheer, intensely hydrating and long wearing. And it doesn't slide all over, despite looking so glossy. That is a combo you don't usually find and if you do, it's very sticky to the touch. This isn't sticky either. It's just so simple and perfect. This color wore for about two hours without needing a touch up.
Fiona Stiles Hydrashine Essential Lip Color, $16.00
BONUS! The lipsticks are $5 cheaper than the full price Urban Decay lippies that are all over my news feed right now.
The second lipstick I tested is the Ultrasuede High Intensity Lip Color in Grand, a bright raspberry. This color is almost too pigmented to wear straight out of the tube. I appreciate the intensity and the color payoff, but wow. This color is better applied with a lip brush or very carefully with the doe foot applicator and your finger, assuming you are looking for more natural looking application. If you want that heavy Gwen Stefani kind of mouth (think about her on car karaoke with James Corden), then apply with the doe foot wand applicator. This formula is incredibly comfortable and not too drying for a suede. This wore for hours, although not that successfully through a salad. This shade does stain the lips however so, even when it's gone, it's still there.
Fiona Stiles Ultrasuede High Intensity Lip Color, $16.
If you've tried this line, let me know what you think! Have you tried the Eye Veil? It's very interesting...let's discuss!
