This fall, MAKE UP FOR EVER is all about a smoky eye. They've launched a gorgeous shadow palette and four different smoky, smudgeable liners and coordinating mascaras to give you that sultry, sexy look. But instead of just the traditional grays, MUFE is injecting color into the smoky eye. Lots of color. Let's check out the basic looks and then let's look at the colors.
The eye palette contains eight shades to help you achieve the looks below. While I haven't seen this palette in person, I'm guessing the shadows are the usual gorgeous, smooth, long-wearing color you are used to. Here are the four custom looks MAKE UP FOR EVER has created for each eye color/basic color. You don't have to wear the color shown for your eye color; stretch a little and try something different!
I got the chance to try the plum look and opted to do a toned down look for work. I didn't add any additional plum shadow because I wanted to keep it slightly less attention-grabbing for the day.
I smudged out the liner, even taking it into the crease. Then I added two coats of plum mascara to really boost the look.
I can tell you that the liners last all day (but maybe slightly less on the waterline).
These liners are smokier and more smudgeable than the MUFE liners I've used in the past. These definitely don't dry down in the same way their other pencil liners do. The mascara lasts and lasts, with no flaking. It built serious drama and volume into my lashes, giving me a gap-free look. That look survived the entire work day, including the odd earthquake on the east coast. At least I looked good while cowering in a doorway!
Pick up the Smoky Shadow Palette for $45, the Kohl Pencil Liners for $17 and the Smoky Lash Couleur for $22. Everything is available in stores at Sephora and online at Sephora.com.
