Jay Manuel Beauty: My Face Finishing Filter Looks

I had been watching Jay Manuel Beauty every time they present on HSN. The foundations, the Skin Lift, the GLOSSES; it's so much glam it's almost overwhelming. If my no-buy hadn't been in full effect, the cream to powder foundation would have been in my cart way before now. I've taken the bait, I've dived into the deep end with Jay Manuel Beauty and I have so much to show you!

Jay Manuel Beauty is all about finding your perfect face filter so you won't need to add one on Instagram. Seriously, you can take a quick test here and find out which filter you would prefer IRL. I've taken the test a few times and I get different results, mainly because I can't make up my own mind. So I'm going to show you one of each, using JMB's curated filter finish collection.

My Soft Focus Filter Look

The Soft Focus Filter is all about an effortless, natural look. Think semi-matte skin, basic colors with a twist and lovely lips. I'm a little obsessed with JMB's Ultimate Lip Gloss in Desire.

Wet and Desire Ultimate Lip Gloss

It's a super shiny, golden nude metallic that practically glows. Wear it lightly and you'll get a little glow. Add a little more for a chrome-like finish.

Here is what I'm wearing in my Soft Focus Look:

Base: Powder To Cream, Light 3
Concealer: Photo Illusion Concealer, Light (This shade is really light. Pick medium if you aren't sure.)
Blush: Flush
Shadow Palette: Trance
Creme Liner: Latex

My Illuminating Filter Look

To get the perfect illuminating filter look, you just want to highlight your best features. Call it strobing or whatever you like; it's you zhushed up with a bit of light that hits in all the right places. I'm over looking shiny, so I went for just a little glow.

But don't let me stop you from going full spotlight. Because once you pull the pin on this brush, Skin Face Lift is ready for to lift off just as high as you want to go.

Oh yeah, this gloss in Pinch is everything. You can build up the shine, without making a mess. The special flat paddle applicator helps make application easy. I love the colors for spring!

See what I mean about this gloss? You can truly get that really wet look. Plus Pinch is just the most gorgeous spring color, ever.

Concealer: Photo Illusion Concealer, Light
Skin Face Lift: VIP
Shadow Palette: Beguile
Creme Liner: Infamous
Blush: Flush
Lip/Eye Liner: Glow (in corners and bow)
Ultimate Lip Gloss: Pinch

Tip: Make sure once you pull the pin out of the Face Lift that the powder is flowing correctly. It should deposit a very light veil of shine that is controllable and buildable.

My Sunlit Filter Look

A little bronzer, a little shimmer and a smile and you've nailed the Sunlit Filter Look! It's that time of year where the bronzer is itching to come out and everything's golden.

Crushed mineralized pigments deliver a satin bronze that warms everyone up. I can't get enough of a good thing and Escape, a barely golden illuminator, is gorgeous.

The Loud Shadow Quad can certainly get you noticed. However, using these colors with a domed brush and a light hand can lend itself to the perfect crease color.

Need more glow? Try the Ultimate Pencils, which work for eyes and lips (just be sure the shade you love works for both). There is no easier way to add a touch of glimmer exactly where you want it.

Tip: Wear Escape as the perfect shadow base color for lids that radiate light.

I love this filter so much, it's been a go-to of mine for the last week or so. I love mixing it with Smile, a beautiful pink lip stain that actually leaves behind a rosy shimmer when it stains.

Here is what it looks like after it fades...beautiful and unlike any other stain I've tried. Love!
