Thirty dollars seems like a decent wad of cash, right? You can buy twenty-eight-and-a-half Dunkin Donuts Large Unsweetened Ice Teas. You can rent 20 Redbox Blu-rays. You can take 4.8 people to an Early Bird showing of Let's Be Cops at the Anchorage Cinemark. Thirty dollars goes kind of far, but how great of a face can you get for $30? Here is how I would do it!
Scan your BeautyClub Rewards Card at the CVS kiosk. I'm going to guess I'll get at least 2 coupons for $3.00 off of two makeup brands. Plus, I'll get a $5.00 coupon for spending $50. (I can't get out of a makeup aisle without dropping $50, so that is a given I get a $5 each time I go in the store.) Now I've gotten $11 more towards my $30 face. See how you game the system?
Now you'll need a foundation. I love Maybelline's Dream Wonder Fluid Touch ($10.99). It's the drugstore version of all of the higher end serum-based foundations. This doesn't contain skin care, but the finish looks the same.
The eyes are where it's hard not to spend it all. Color Riche Dual Effects shadow in Perpetual Nude from L'OREAL ($9.99) is so creamy, it's beautiful. Use the darkest color in the palette as the liner. The L'OREAL Voluminous Butterfly Mascara ($8.99) offers a comb on one side and a brush on the other. It's the BEST drugstore mascara--this is a fact which cannot be successfully disproven.
For my blush, I'm using a touch of Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso ($8.49).
For the lips, look no further than Milani's Power Lips ($6.49). Pick the color of your choice. They are all gorgeous. They wear longer and more comfortably that most of the same category of lippies at Sephora and you can't beat the price. Mwah!
That is a grand total of $44.95, before sale prices. After sale prices, depending on where you live, you are closer to $38.48. Now, thanks to your Beauty Club Rewards, you've even got a little left over so you can grab an Unsweetened Ice Tea and rent something from Redbox.
