Plumpkin is a really pretty dark-ish purple color that makes green and blue eyes POP.
Man Hunt is a gorgeous gray with a bit of sparkle. Here are both colors swatched.
They are both very long lasting and the best part is, they don't crease! The color stays true all day (I am counting a day as no less than 9 hours). Plus, they are bargain priced at $8.99 each. So far in my quest for the perfect cream shadow, this wears the best and is the least expensive. The pots are on the smaller side - the are big enough to get a finger tip into the jar, but a brush probably works better.
Now I need to find the perfect cream shadow brush. Thoughts? Is there anything else better? If you have found it, please let me know!
I bought these colors and I want more.

Ok, so I've tried this private label line (it's carried at a lot of places), and I like them ok. But I think in general that you're better off buying the MAC paint pots. I think I remember breaking down the numbers and that for the amount of product you get, MAC is a better deal than these. But, I could be wrong because it's been over a year since I did it. The quality in these is pretty good, and they do come in a wide variety of colors.
ReplyDeleteI do love the MAC paint pots. Painterly is a staple in my daily use (until recently!). I kind of like the smaller sizes because I use them before they run the risk of drying out. I love the colors - and I picked them up when they were on sale. Score!
ReplyDeleteMy bigger issue with MAC is customer service at the counters. It is what stops me from shopping there. At the two locations near me, they are under-staffed, over-mobbed and a gal like me can't get a soul to help them for 15+ minutes. no matter when I go in. I can't imagine it's like that everywhere, but it makes shopping that amazing line really hard in my area. Perhaps other local gals will weigh in on this? Am I crazy?
I've never had a MAC paint pot dry out. I've got Delft, Blackground and Bare Study. In the Indelibles I have Pink Pearl and Fathom.
ReplyDeleteFrom the indelible liners I have had Black Out and Black Cherry. My Black cherry dried out on me ;(
I've had problems with the MAC counters here at the MAC store, but if I go to a department store where there's MAC, I get better service.
I haven't had a Paint Pot dry out either - I just worry they will because they are so much larger. Who am I kidding? I have so much makeup that it's a miracle when I hit pan on any product. We have a MAC boutique and counter here. Sometimes the counter is better (at Nordstroms) but not usually. It depends on when you get there. Since I work during the week, I am only there when everyone else is. Plus the bad service at the boutique leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That said, I still have enough old MAC to sink a ship. :-(
ReplyDeleteps- I LOVE Bare Study. That and Painterly are my go to base shades.
ReplyDeleteEverything creases on my lids, so I might actually try these out! MAC is always crowded, so yes I end up leaving before I buy stuff, too- but I do love me some Painterly!
