Makeup Wars: Best Cream Highlight or Contour

Makeup Wars is back and today we are talking highlighting and contouring creams. Hint: if you can tell that you are wearing a contouring creme, you're doing it wrong. But never fear, you can still naturally shape your face without looking Picasso-y.

The key to a sculpting your look without a heavy hand? A light touch and slightly darker cream blush. Here's the easiest way to contour your cheeks naturally. Dab a tiny bit of Bobbi Brown's Uber Beige on the tip of your finger and gently tap it into place, directly under your cheek bone. Blend it upward, using a sweeping motion. Now add a pop of color to the apple of your cheeks and a little highlighter if you need it. Go easy, use a light touch and use half of the makeup you think you need. Pretty, contoured and naturally beautiful. It's about bringing your best self forward, not about creating a mask.

Cream highlighters, however, are irresistible compacts of pure joy. Becca makes my favorites, hands down. The Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured is creamy magic on the skin. Opal, above, is like a strobe light of white. A little goes a long way!

If Opal and Becca Perfectors are all a little too "strong" for your tastes, try Hello Light Anti-Aging Creme Luminizer by It Cosmetics. It's light, it's on the sheer side and it lasts all day.
