According to a recent article in Allure Magazine, the majority of us aren't wearing sunscreen properly. We are slathering it on to some degree, yet skin cancer rates are still soaring.
Don't listen to the hype that wearing sunscreen is the reason so many of us are Vitamin D deficient (blame Netflix and not eating the proper food). The reason cancer rates are going up is because we aren't taking our skincare seriously. This is despite new beauty blogs cropping up every day, all promising tips on how to keep your skin looking young. We're reading about how we should be treating our skin, so the only option left is that we must be doing it all wrong.
Here are the facts:
The rate of skin cancer is up 3000% since 1994 and it is the most common cancer for those between 25-29 years old.
Any degree of real tanning causes damage to the skin. Yes, that is what I said. ANY TANNING.
For years, sunscreens only blocked UVA rays which caused tanning. They didn't block the UVB rays that cause skin damage. Only buy 'screens that say broad spectrum!
We aren't wearing the right amount of product or reapplying it properly. You'll need essentially one shot glass per body part (that's a lot!) and you'll need to reapply every two hours.
You'll want to apply a half teaspoon of SPF on your face, every day. That is so much sunscreen you may want to apply it in two layers, letting it dry in between applications. That is what it takes to protect your face. More than you thought, isn't it?
The SPF in your foundation alone isn't enough coverage. Stop pretending that it is.
Zinc Oxide is the go-to ingredient if you want amazing, chemical-free protection.
Be sure to apply it to your hands and neck as well! You'll thank me in 20 years.

The only sunless tanner that works for me is the infallible Beautisol. I don't think I've ever met someone who didn't like Beautisol. There is almost no smell, it goes on beautifully and never cracks. It's perfection. If you must tan, this is what you want!
Do you tan or totally avoid the sun? Are you worried about aging or figure you'll fix the damage when it shows up? Tell me how you feel!
