I was so excited for the Red Carpet on Sunday night. I couldn't wait to see what styles would be inspiring us all winter and spring.
And some people, like Jessica Chastain, blew me away.
Sure, Uzo Aduba looked amazing. As did Emily Blunt, Kate Hudson, Jessica Chastain, J Lo, Amy Poehler and Reese Witherspoon. And I could have used way more Tina and Amy. I loved every second they were on stage (without Margaret Cho). But for the most part, I was really, really bored.
I loved the return of red lipstick and metallics and noticeable nude lip shades. And I loved the long hair permanently swept to one side. Rosamund Pike's asymmetrical bob was gorgeous. But that was about it.
The one thing I did notice is that the shape of how some people wore their shadow was different that what we've been currently seeing. Usually, shadow placement has been tilting up, like a cat eye. On Sunday night, I noticed more people were wearing shadow that didn't tilt up, instead just mimicking an almond eye shape. You can see what I'm talking about with Kate Mara, above. That's as exciting as it got. Artists changed the shape of the placement of eye shadow.
Of course, I get the PR blitz into the night of who did what for whom. Here is what you need to know.
Reese Witherspoon wore Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Merlot.
Emily Blunt was a vision in makeup by Dior. Her lip color was Rouge Dior Lipstick in Grege 1947 #169 and NEW Rouge Dior Brillant Lipshine in Victoire #808. (New launch available on Dior.com March 1st)
Everyone with nails used L'OREAL's Age Perfect Glow Renewal as a cuticle oil.
It was not the best night, as far as red carpet events go. Did you like anyone? What stood out to you?
