This week's Makeup Wars is all about what those beauty enthusiasts, girly girls and makeup mavens want for the holidays. So many things to choose from! The palettes, the gift sets, the lasers and hair tools! Here are my picks for those special women who live for the fashion mags, already have everything and take hair and makeup seriously.
Tria Age Defying Laser: This is high on my list of personal wants, although I am hard pressed to shell out the money myself. The bloggers I know who've used this swear by it, which is really all I need to know. It's pricey, but it's essentially the price of two in-office laser treatments, so you'll save in the long run.
VOLOOM Volumizing Hair Iron: I can't stop raving about this (review coming later this week!). It adds volume to almost any hair style that lasts and lasts without sticky sprays or products. It's so simple, it's genius.
Essentially, this iron leaves little waffle crimps at the roots, boosting hair until you wash it. If you know of someone who's ever complained of flat or lifeless hair, this is the solution.
Tulip By The Instyler is a revolutionary new way to curl your hair. It's similar to those irons that automatically take your hair and create a perfect curl, WITHOUT the possibility of getting your hair caught inside the barrel of the machine. It's the fast, fool-proof way to gorgeous curls. And unlike other irons, you are in control of the heat, the duration and the direction of the curls.
PANDORA Essence: It's no secret I love my PANDORA (I work for their ad agency!). I'm in love with the look of Essence bracelets with either two or three charms. If you stagger the bracelets with different numbers of charms, they sit beautifully on the wrist and looks so much more modern and delicate than some of their traditional designs.
(I wear a 19cm bracelet, you know, if anyone is looking to get me something. wink, wink.)
Of course, there are several beautiful choices where makeup palettes are concerned. One of the prettiest is the QVC TSV from Tarte, which is one of the most thorough, stunning kits I've seen all year. It's retailing for $60 TODAY ONLY and you'll be kicking yourself if you don't grab it right now. Seriously.
Also worth grabbing is Buxom's Lip Gloss Roulette. It's a stunning presentation and full of gorgeous lippies that they are sure to love. I can't imagine anyone not making that high pitched girly noise when they unwrap this beautiful package.
While we are talking BareMinerals, I love the Incredible Mixologist Kit as well. They give you the basics and you can make your own shadows. It's like a chemistry set - but for eyeshadow. How fun is that?
