It's been a really long winter. I didn't mind, but now the temperatures are going up, the weather is starting to get really beautiful and it's time to start showing more skin. During the winter, my skin goes through a lot. Forced air heating, dramatic temperature swings and lots and lots of really dry skin.
The one thing I hate about most lotions is the goop factor. You know what I mean. Heavy, thick, greasy lotion that takes forever to melt into the skin and usually leaves a behind a filmy layer that gets on my clothes...not to mention how it constantly goops up my rings. Yuck. It's the main reason I am not the devoted lotion user I know my skin wants me to be.
All of that has changed with the release of three new spray lotions from St. Ives. Available in three formulas that range from exotic to comforting, these lotions never leave the skin greasy and are made with natural hydrators that deliver time-honored moisturizing ingredients directly to the layers of your skin that need it the most. The fine hydrating mist goes on similarly to an Evian Mist, it's that fine. There is truly no mess, no goop and no need to constantly clean your jewelry.
St. Ives Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk and Orchid Extract Fresh Hydration Lotion is the one you want if you want to feel transported to a more exotic location. Formulated with glycerin and shea butter, along with coconut milk and orchid extracts, this lotion leaves the skin feeling silky smooth. The scent is heavenly, like a vacation I can't wait to take! With notes from guava, mandarin, lily of the valley, Hawaiian Jasmine and coconut milk, as well as vanilla and blond woods, you can't help but feel like you're suddenly on an exotic beach. Even if you're just in the bathroom at your office. I love this lotion because it can easily make you forget that your TPS reports are late, even if just for a few moments.
St. Ives Naturally Energizing Citrus and Vitamin C Fresh Hydration Lotion refreshes the senses with the sharp but not overpowering scent of grapefruit, orange and lime. Formulated with the same shea and glycerin, skin is woken up with the zing of grapefruit extract and vitamin C. This formula is wonderful for waking up on Mondays or anytime you just need to feel a little energized.
St. Ives Naturally Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter Fresh Hydration Lotion has the least scent of the three and hearkens back to using ingredients that people have used to soothe their dry, chapped skin for centuries. Oatmeal has amazing healing properties where dry, abused skin is concerned and the light vanilla scent will help relax not only your skin, but your state of mind. I like to keep this one in the fridge for a cooling burst of soothing hydration on days when my skin gets a little over exposed to the heat or winds.
My favorite may be the Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter, but I love the exotic scent of the Indulgent Coconut Milk and Orchid Extract. The spray nozzle doesn't clog, or spray gloppy messes like some of those sunscreens that claim you don't need to rub in the lotion. With these, you'll get a fine mist that settles directly into the skin. With one or two quick wipes with your hands, your skin will be refreshed, plumped and hydrated; all with a gentle scent to soothe your senses.
