It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination

I'm not a fan of powdered foundation. I'm just not. I think only one or two of them look good on anyone over the age of 21. The foundation gets in your lines, it looks dry, it turns yellow--meh. I'm not a fan.

However, one of my favorite brands, It Cosmetics, does have a powdered foundation that meets my requirements. It never yellows. It doesn't look like you are wearing a lot of foundation. It doesn't settle into fine lines (much). And it doesn't look dry.

The Celebration Foundation Illumination is one of the only powder foundations I'll wear. (Here's a link to the other one.) This foundation is heavily pigmented, so a little goes a long way. There is no sparkle or shimmer, yet it seems to give me a touch of a radiant matte glow. It Cosmetics likes to pair this foundation with their Heavenly Luxe Airbrush Foundation Brush. I think it's the perfect brush to apply the powder without overdoing it.

Celebration Foundation Illumination also includes good for your skin ingredients like peptides and hyaluronic acid (my favorite!). Skin doesn't get dried out and the powder always looks fresh. This foundation also includes their Drops of Light technology, which allegedly gives your skin a lit from within glow. I can't seem to easily find exactly what that tech entails, so I'll get back to you when I figure it out. It's available in five shades, ranging from Fair to Rich. I'm wearing Light below.

If you want a foundation that's really easy to apply and always looks natural this may be exactly what you are looking for. Pick it up for $35.

  1. I use to HATE powder foundations, but brands like Pur changed my mind! Now I really want to try the IT cosmetics one and the tarte one!!

  2. I will second you on this one Kelly! I wear mostly powder foundation because I'm lazy and it's easy and because I have large pores and liquids/creams are too much work. However, at age 57 one must be very, very careful with powder. This one, and the Lancome Dual Finish, are the only two that fit the bill. I found at first it was easy to overdo this one, but once you figure it out, it's great. I have dry skin and live in a dry climate so I really do have to be careful to properly prep and moisturize before using this. Here's a tip: I use the Chanel Le Blanc Light Revealing Brightening Makeup Base in #10, Rosee under this. Just tried it one day and it's a match made in heaven! Somehow, the Chanel just works perfectly with this powder to bring life to the skin and make it look not so powdery.

  3. I have used the IT celebration fen for a couple of years and love it. I also, discovered the Laura Mercier powdered foundation about a year ago and agree ... I use it for special occasions. I have found the IT fen on sale, recently got two compacts of it foe the price do one! Love your blog and read every one. Keep,it up!
