One Minute Makeover: Polished Golden Eyes

Purchased by Me Sent For Review Affiliate links

I get asked quite often how I apply my foundation or shadow. I hate long tutorials. I get that perhaps other people don't mind watching twenty minutes of goofy blathering, but does anyone really make it to the end of those twenty-minute videos? Who has the time to edit all of that?

Instead, here's the Gouldylox solution: One Minute Makeovers. If you want to stop at certain parts and watch them again, go for it. I'll list the steps and products below, so you'll know exactly what I used.

Plus, this is fun to watch to see what a huge difference a little well-placed makeup makes.
This is the first one of these videos, but if you like it, I'll make them more often! Let me know what you think!

Real time application: About 12 minutes.

Face:
Apply Le Blanc de Chanel Illuminating Base.
Apply MAC Longwear Pro Foundation using It Cosmetics Dual Airbrush Foundation and Concealer Brush.
Using a blush brush, apply MUFE Sculpting Kit around the hairline, jawline and cheek hallows.
Then apply the lighter shade in the MUFE compact above the eyes and slightly above the cheek bones and down the nose.
Apply Marc Jacobs Obsessed Blush on apples of cheeks.

Eyes:
Apply Face Stockholm  Brow Powder to brows.
Prime eyes with MAC's Bare Study Paint Pot.
Apply lightest warm shade in Eve Pearl Diamond Eyes palette over lid and slightly above crease. (These shadows last, don't crease and are exactly this gorgeous in real life.)
Apply medium shade from palette in the corner and slightly above the crease.
Apply the darkest shade from the palette in the corner and into the crease.
Apply MAC's Grain shadow along the edge of the makeup closest to the brow to blend.
Use a black eyeliner to line next to the lashes.

Finish:
Spray face with Skindinavia Setting Spray.
Curl lashes.
Apply two coats of It Cosmetics Hello Lashes Mascara.
Create lipline with bareMinerals Moxie lipliner.
Fill in lips using Chanel Glossimer in Amour.

  1. What is the secret to finding the right brow powder? All the brow powders I have tried just seem too dark for me - even though my brows are actually dark.

  2. Knowing you, I think the issue is not the right brow powder, but being able to see yourself a little differently without getting weirded out by the change. Brow powder (in this video) for me is really dark, but still works. I think if you shaped your brows and filled in the edges with a little bit of a taupe powder, you would be really pleased and the change would not be overly dramatic. However, I know you aren't big on changing or wearing much makeup, so you have to be comfortable in your own skin. I think your gorgeous!

  7. This is just genius! I can't stand lengthy videos as well. This is succinct, to the point... and has written directions.

It amazes me how defining brows can be when filled in. Gives me motivation to put my brows on every day.
