The product I'm loving right now for adding a bit of texture to my curling iron waves is WonderCurl's Butter Than Love Pudding. This is another product that is not meant for my hair (it's meant for girls with natural hair). But I don't care. I have dry hair, so it works for me! It adds a little shine, a little texture and keeps my ends looking soft and healthy. It's got a lot of oils in it, so if you have fine or non-porous hair, skip it. But if you're like me, dive in and try it. If you are obsessed with soft hair, this is a must.
I was reading some blogs on Babble this week and one of them has convinced me that the trick to covering under eye circles is hydrating the skin under your eyes. The most emollient eye cream on my vanity this week is the City Cosmetics Total Eye Rejuvenation Serum. It's not cheap at $97, but it claims to solve every problem you could possibly have with your eyes. I've only been using it for a few days, but the hydration is long-lasting and fairly amazing. I'll update you if I suddenly discover I have the eyes of a 25-year-old.
Continuing with my quest for total hydration, I've fallen for these Tarantino-esque Lip Lubes from a company called Balm Chicky Balm Balm (got it? Like music you might hear when watching someone get busy). These lip balms contain three different oils to help keep your lips soft and ready for action. They even include a little pot on the bottom to share with your friends. With names like Juicy Melons, Huge Cucumber and Hot Chocolate Love you can't help but smile (with really soft lips!). Use code Kelly Chicky Balm and get each tube for $6.69- pick up as many as you'd like!
Finally, as a way to get off of the couch and get in shape, I've taken up MMA training. It was honestly a bit of a mistake, but now that I'm there (and not totally afraid to have my leg swept for the 25th time in one night), I'm staying. Hopefully I'll be one svelte mamajamma in a matter of months. But in the meantime, I'm using Patrick Smith Botanicals Muscle Balm to ease my sore muscles. Who knew you could do a somersault while someone has you in an arm bar? Before you try it, make sure you have some muscle balm on hand to help the inevitable sore neck that follows.
