Too Faced recently added a line of new lip colors, Lip Injection Color Bomb! Moisture Plumping Lip Tint to their lip color line up. These six colors are different from others in the collection because of their superior plumping ability. You can actually see the plumping (you can also feel the plumping, but more on that later).
While in Sephora a few weeks ago, I overheard salespeople telling customers that applying the Lip Injection Color Bomb to your hands would result in little red, raised stripes on your hands. "That's nothing to worry about! You can see the product working!" was repeated over and over again. They were right. When I applied swatches of color on my arm, I definitely got little raised areas! While I'm not 100% sure inflammation like this is good for your lips, I can definitely tell you it works. You won't have weird pillow lips that look fake, but some fine lines will be smoothed out (providing the plumping feeling doesn't bother you too much).
Knowing that these colors actually plump lips, I selected Eastwood Red to take home.
Upon applying, my lips started to feel like they were tingling. Then they started to really tingle, bordering on burning a bit. Keep in mind, it wasn't painful, but it was definitely unexpected. That sensation faded after a few minutes and I was left with succulent lips in a gorgeous red shade that lasted the afternoon. I've since learned that applying, blotting and applying again will yield several more hours of wear than just applying once. I also think I prefer to get the color without the burn and have been putting a bit of lip balm under the color to protect my lips a bit. I'm not getting the same wear or plumping action when I do that, but the color still looks beautiful and lasts quite a while.
Take a look at all of the colors available. What do you think? No pain, no gain? Or with all of the options available, there's no reason to plump uncomfortably? Share your thoughts in the comments!
