Hiding Behind the Camera for the Last 3 Weeks

(The view from my room in NYC, overlooking the 9-11 Memorial. I didn't know the hotel did that when I booked it.)

I've been kind of absent lately. I've managed to post every now and then, but I haven't been able to reply to comments as often as I would have liked to. Sorry about that. I've been unusually busy at my day job (a commercial TV producer) and haven't had a moment to spare.

In NYC one week and LA the following week, I'm so glad to finally be home! I've produced 26 projects in the last 3 weeks. I feel like I could sleep for a week!

However, I did manage to squeeze a bit of shopping in between shoots. And a hilarious dinner with blogger buddies The Makeup Blogger, Jen from My Beauty Bunny and new pal Meg from Meg's Makeup. I don't dare repeat our conversations, but they did involve a lot of talk of hairless cholos in sweaters, random cow hoofs and donkeys. I don't think we ever even spoke of makeup.

While they are my client (and I'm legally obligated to point that out), I am in love with the new feather ring, necklace and earrings from PANDORA. IN LOVE. I see both of these in my future. You can't play with the jewelry for two weeks in a row and not fall head over heels.

The microcrystals are gorgeous. Check them out! (I also love how crafty the stylists are by combining basic pieces to make unique statement jewelry. Try it!)

I also hit up three of my favorite stores that supply makeup to the pros. Each one of the stores carries slightly different products, but each store has lust-worthy treasures from brands you know and love, as well as brands you need to discover. Check out my hauls from each.

Frends Beauty Supply: Z Palette, Makeup setting spray and another beloved Gingerella Brow pencil from Vanity Mark.

Naimie's Beauty Center: Eve Pearl Eye Palette, Fekkai's Glossing Creme, a gorgeous hair clip and headband (to help with hair control in the convertible!) Too Faced's Pretty Rebel Palette, Alcatraz...Rocks by OPI and a nail file.

Nigel Beauty Emporium: Leila Lou Eau de Parfum, Make Up For Ever Sculpting Kit and a lovely pair of nippers.

You don't have to be a pro to shop there and you don't even have to live in California. Shop online and tell them I said hi!

Finally, while in NYC, I was able to give a client the Gouldylox to Go treatment! After some harrowing cab rides, we hit the shops that stay open late for a serious makeover. I only wish I had taken a photo! If you haven't tried them, INGLOT has some GORGEOUS foundations that leave your skin looking perfect, without looking like you are wearing much makeup.

(The artwork on the CVS in Venice is terrifying. But as my cousin pointed out on facebook, at least he's wearing underwear. So yeah, there's that.)

Now I'm back (at least for a few weeks) and ready to dive into fall trends. What are you looking forward to? Red lips? Big hair? False lower lashes? Smokey cranberry eyes? Matte skin and lips? Technicolor Cat Eyes? Full brows? Let's discuss!
