I haven't really written much about skincare lately. I was under a doc's care for treatment of my melasma, to deal with it for once and for all. That was back in April. Let's just say that things didn't go well. My skin looked blah, my melasma was somehow WORSE and my skin was just annoyed. Needless to say, that prescription treatment that rhymes with Macaghi didn't help my skin out one bit.
My eyes looked terrible (you may remember this post!) and my skin looked sad and dull. I decided to commit to one line for a few months and see if anything could make a difference.
Lucky for me, the next line of products ready to be tested in my arsenal were from the aptly named First Aid Beauty. I know my fellow blog sisters had agreed that this was a line that went much more deeply than marketing hype. I needed a rescue!
Here is what I used:
Dual Repair Eye Cream: Since this product was designed to strengthen the skin barrier, stimulate the dermal matrix and reduce skin sensitivity, it could not have been more perfect for me. Plus, it's hydrating and feels fantastic.
Dual Repair Face Serum: This product is really similar to the eye cream and since I needed to focus on calming and repairing my skin, it was a solid plan.
Dual Repair Face Cream: This cream is a more hydrating version of the serum designed to help nourish and rejuvenate your skin.
All of this is exactly what I needed to repair the damage done by the really harsh prescription treatment. I'm not usually one to worry about sensitive skin, but after that trial, I needed to take it easy.
This line from FAB is all about strengthening the skin's barrier (you have no idea how much you need that until you do something that messes with it!) and calming the skin. Once you have calm and happy skin, it can react in a way that yields better anti-aging results.
So how does my skin behave now, about two months later?
It's back to normal and looks lovely as ever! If you are looking for a skin rescue, look no farther. Next up, I can't wait to try their new Facial Radiance Serum. If you've tried it, let me know!
