Lately, I've been having a lot of fun with eyeliner. Cat eyes are great, but even I'm getting a little tired of a straight cat.
There are two basic looks I'm loving right now. For the first, you'll need a skintone shade of shadow to even out the eye and add a little twinkle. For my really fair skin, I use Gilded Platinum from Laura Mercier (Art Deco collection, LE, Holiday 2013). Any sheer, shiny, nude shadow will do.
Want more color? Add your bright line just above the black line all the way to the inner corner of your eye. It just takes a bit of practice and definitely gets your eyes noticed. I find pencil easier to work with and control than liquid, but that may just be me.
My other favorite liner look involves creating a bronze eye. Hands down, my favorite shadows right now are the Folklore collection from Laura Mercier. Sun Glow, Earth Glow and Fire Glow are summer must-haves. If those shades are gone from your stores, check out the new-ish Urban Decay Moon Dust shadows. I love Diamond Dog.
Next, tightline your eyes (line the area just below your upper lashes, but not on the waterline) with a black eyeliner. Then take a bright liner in platinum or gold and line the eyes as if you were doing a gentle cat eye. Go even brighter with an electric color, like Siren or Woodstock from Urban Decay. Want a nude pop of glowing beauty? Try Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Liner in Silver Light and Make Up For Ever in Champagne, Gold, Silver or Pearl White.
So easy and it makes your eyes sparkle!
