I'm not usually a big fan of tinted compacts, creams or otherwise. I tend to like liquid foundation best. If I have two to chose from, a liquid and a cream, I'll almost always choose the liquid. However, a good friend suggested I try the Avene High Protection Tinted Compact with SPF 50. You know I'm a stickler for not tanning and for aging as slowly as possible, so it's no surprise a foundation with an SPF of 50 would appeal to me.
This compact uses a mineral sunscreen, not a chemical one. This means it's gentle enough for babies! Not that babies need foundation, but you know what I mean. You can also use it on skin that has just undergone a procedure or if you are just sensitive. It also contains vitamin E, a great antioxidant. There isn't a downside! It's not even that expensive, retailing for around $32.
Did I mention that this foundation lasts? Like TEN HOURS lasts. I thought it must be the primer I was using, so I skipped the primer for a few days. The wear didn't change.
So let's review. It packs a serious UVA/UVB punch, fights free radicals, makes your skin look perfect and wears for longer than a work day. You will want to keep this in your purse for touch-ups, in your vacation tote to make sure you look adorable and in your go-bag for crime fighting (or whatever other bag you carry). My point? You'll probably want it by your side long after the boys of summer have left.
Pick it up for about $32 from a retailer near you!
