Bangs or No Bangs? Help Me Decide, Please!

What kind of Goldilocks would I be if I was ever truly happy? While reading Lucky magazine yesterday, I found a picture of Alexa Chung's bangs and really, really liked them. Sure, I've been growing mine out for about nine months, but it's just hair, right?

Take a look at my photo with and without bangs (I'm not good at photoshop, obviously). Please let me know which you think is better.

(No Loxy, those aren't extra eyebrows. It's the line where I cut out her face and put in my own.)

While I love the idea of cascading bangs that hit my jawline, I also feel like I have a fivehead (thanks, Tyra) and when I pull my hair up, I feel like it never looks quite right.

Please vote and let me know your opinion so I can make a decision.

I'm itching to make a change, but I don't know if this is the right one. We've all been there, right? Thank you!

  1. Given that your face is between an oval and a heart shape, you can definitely pull them off! I recently cut my own curtain bangs and love them. Go for it!

  3. You can pull off bangs with your face shape, but how does your hair react? Mine gets silly curly when it goes shorter...so even though my face works with bangs, my hair does not...if your hair is well-behaved, then go for it!

  5. You look great both ways. Do bangs, you can always grow them out!! I have them and feel that it's never "boring" when I do my hair. xoxo Beth in Pgh ;-)

  7. I actually prefer the classic look of no bangs, but after about a year of patience growing them out, had to admit that the look just wasn't as flattering on my face as a sideswept fringe. And as you said, pulling my hair back just didn't look right. So, fringe it is.

  9. Bangs. I'm personally having a bangs-dilemma of my own, though I am thinking heavy blunt bangs myself. DECISIONS.

  10. You look 10 years younger WITH the bangs.

  11. I have to agree with that. I hope I won't look immature (more than usual, anyway) with them!

  12. I think you look younger with the bangs too and you will feel more confident wearing your hair up which means you'll have a lot more styling options. Also, I think as long as the bangs are cut long (like Alexa's) they should grow out pretty nicely and not as painstaking as when they are exactly at/above eyebrow level.

  13. I vote for bangs. I'm not patient and I just couldn't take growing mine out anymore so cut myself some pretty heavy bangs this morning (DON"T DO IT YOURSELF). My stylist will need shorten up the rest of the layers so it all falls better at my appointment in a few weeks - that is if he doesn't kill me first.
