Makeup Wars: How to Wear the Color of the Year

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've surely heard that PANTONE has named Emerald the color of the year. This is lovely, but it's a hard one to pull off for a lot of people. Sure, we all thought that last year's winner Tangerine Tango would be hard to wear and now that it's here, it's still going strong.

But emerald? It's brighter than forest and nowhere near nude like some mosses and pigmented. So to get you ready for the color of the year the Makeup Wars team is showing off their favorite ways to go green.

(A mirror also flips out from the bottom! Who knew? I didn't when I took these photos!)

Mine is the new Bionic Color Block from Sephora + PANTONE UNIVERSE. The three shades work very well together and are so pigmented that you can use them to really transform your look. The green in Bionic is a true, sharp emerald. There is no glitter or shimmer. It's just a pretty matte green. The blue is equally pigmented and matte, making it a perfect compliment to the green. The shimmering white can go on opaque or sheer, it's up to you. You can also layer it with either matte shade to create a unique shimmering green or blue. These wear for an extended amount of time and really show off your eyes. I picked up Bionic and I think I'll be going back for a little more of the Emerald Color of the Year Collection.
