Weird Tip Monday: Want Easier Hair in the Morning? Sleep On This.

Off label uses are everywhere. Chafing creams make great primers and glaucoma drugs grow lush lashes. If you are looking for ways to get a few extra winks and not mess with your hair in the morning, this works really well for me. Call me crazy, but I swear sleeping on this keeps my style in place for days longer.

What am I talking about? Side sleeping pillows, often also called C-shaped pillows. Of course, if you sleep on your belly, this isn't going to help you. And if you are among the millions who need a specific pillow to sleep, then read this just for fun.

If you aren't married to a specific pillow and want your blowout to last more than a day or so, check out these pillows. Since they cradle your shoulders, they are narrower, allowing your hair to cascade over the sides without mashing your style. As you roll over, your hair cascades in the opposite direction. With a little luck, you'll wake up with the same hair you went to sleep with. There are a ton of them to choose from, but Bed, Bath and Beyond has a nice selection. Personally, I love my Snoogle, but that's serving a lot of needs besides keeping my hair fresh.

Have you ever slept on this kind of pillow and noticed that your hair was perfect in the morning? Share your stories in the comments!

  1. I'm three and half months preggers and just bought a snoogle. I didn't love it the first few nights, I felt a little claustrophobic but I'm going to give it another try when I get bigger. I'll have to pay close attention next time to see if it helps keep my hair looking sexy.

I want to find one of the smaller c-shape pillows to help fight the lines I'm getting around my eyes from sleeping on my side (mostly my left side) since sleeping on my back while preggers is getting uncomfortable. Any recommendations for that?

  2. I got a smaller C Shaped pillow at CVS in the "As Seen On TV" aisle. It's not high quality, at ALL, but I loved it while it lasted.

  3. Thanks Kelly! Between the hormonal breakouts, sleepless nights and side sleep induced wrinkles I'm feeling a big Fugly right now so I'll try anything!
