Foundation Half & Half: Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Foundation

Make Up For Ever recently launched a new foundation that boasts some pretty exciting changes.  Pro Finish Multi-Use Foundation is the opposite of what you think about powder foundations. For example, it can be applied wet or dry. When applied wet, it gives a sheer, satiny finish. When applied dry, it gives a full coverage finish. See? The opposite of other powder foundations.

Pro Finish isn't meant to be used instead of your foundation (although it can be), it's meant to be used for touchups during the day. It can easily travel without making a mess in your bag. Or you can wear it by itself. It's a versatile product. It also has a sponge in the bottom of the compact, so you won't need to worry about carrying a brush around for touchups.

According to MUFE, Pro Finish Multi-Use contains less talc than most powder foundations so it will never look as heavy and cakey. The pigments were designed to give a more natural looking finish and are water-resistant. Available in 25 different shades with four undertones (olive, golden, beige and pink), this is one of the largest lines of foundation on the market.

I got to check out a color picked for me by a MUFE makeup artist. I'm incredibly hard to match in person, so it's even harder in photos. This might be a touch too yellow on me, but it's really, really close. The artist matched me with 117, Golden Ivory.

Let's take a look at what it looks like, half and half. I like the idea of less coverage that looks really natural, so I started by applying the foundation with a damp beauty blender.

(Please don't hate on my brows. I was on my way to see Baltimore's Brow Whisperer to get them fixed.)

Here is what it looks like when applied dry. Quite a difference, right?

I'm not sure this would replace my daily foundation, but it will always be in my purse from this day forward. It's great for touchups and blends well with your existing foundation (provided the color matches perfectly). Check it out anywhere Make Up For Ever is sold, for $36.00.
