When I was asked to try City Lips, a lip plumper that promised lasting results and no painful tingling, I was seriously skeptical. I love my Buxom lip gloss, but it's not going to make your lips noticeably larger. At least, not for a long period of time. Sure the menthol can irritate the tissue in your lip ever so slightly, causing the tissue to become inflamed and "larger", but that's it. But ever curious, I agreed to check it out.
City Lips uses exclusive ingredients not found in any other lip treatment to safely and painlessly stimulate your own natural collagen production. Celadrin® then reduces the breakdown of the newly formed collagen, making your lips fuller and dramatically reducing the lines around the lips. Hyaluronic acid provides incredible moisture and reduces wrinkles, giving your lips an instant plump while making your lips kissably soft and smooth! With City Lips, you achieve long-term results when used as directed.
I was sent the Clear formula for use and noticed a difference in my upper lip almost immediately. It was slightly larger. I then ordered the Nude York color from the website, because I liked the result, I wanted to wear it more often to see if my lips would truly get larger. I have to say, there isn't a huge difference between the Clear and the Nude York colors. For the price point, I would have expected a little more pigment. But again, this is all about the plump factor, right?
While I haven't seen major results like the thirty days of use above, I have seen slight improvements, especially in my upper lip, but it's super subjective. Check out my before and after photos.
The top is before and the bottom is after. I do think my top lip is slightly fuller, but not to the extent in the before and after photos shown above.
Subjective, huh? I will say a good friend did ask me if I had done anything to my upper lip at one point, but otherwise, not many people have noticed. That said, in studies, City Lips plumped lips an average of 3 millimeters. That doesn't sound like a lot, but then again, you wouldn't want lips plumped in terms of inches. Well, I wouldn't want that. Maybe some do.
If you want to check this out, pick it up from City Lips for $35. I got more results from this than I did from Lip Fusion, but not quite as much as the hero model in the photo above.
One was sent for review and I purchased the other one.
