Tarte 12-Hour Brightening Primer is a MUST For Dull, Dry Skin

I'm obsessed with getting brighter, more hydrated skin. My naturally blah dry skin needs all of the help it can get and I'll wander the beauty halls until I find the perfect products. Kind of like the David Carradine of beauty. (The Kung Fu Carradine, not the Kill Bill one).

Tarte is one of my favorite brands for natural looking makeup, so I'm not surprised they've come up with a primer that gives my skin a natural looking, bright base that helps keep my makeup in place all day. Clean Slate Flawless 12-Hour Brightening Primer does just that.

According to Tarte, here is why this is worth considering:

This silicone-free primer contains natural antioxidants, vitamins A, C, and E, and fruit- and plant-derived extracts to fight free radical damage and prevent premature signs of aging while brightening skin. “BerryBright,” a skin-brightening active, delivers natural arbutin from bearberry leaves to the skin, inhibiting the skin pigmentation process for an even, luminous complexion.

According to me, it's worth checking out because it noticeably makes your skin look instantly brighter, helps smooth over uneven textures and holds your makeup in place for longer than if you didn't wear a primer. I'm honestly not sure about 12 hours. On my dry skin, that seems a bit exaggerated. I'm getting about half of that for a flawless face and I'm still removing more makeup than usual at the end of the day.

Pick it up for $30 from Sephora for the brightening properties alone. It will help make your skin look lovely with or without makeup, which is a brilliant trick for the beach house (or any house) this summer.

  1. This looks really neat! Naturally glowing skin is the #1 sign of beauty, in my opinion. But I wish Tarte would go into more detail about the skincare benefits of this primer (if they are there).

  2. oooh! I have dry skin too. I need to try this. I've been using the By Terry Hyaluronic Face Glow but it is so $$$. Thanks!
