People write about their favorite combos all the time. If you feel like playing lash scientist, add Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes or Mally's Volumizing Mascara to whatever you are using and you'll get pretty fabulous results. But what if you don't feel like dropping $30-40 on mascara for three months? (I don't throw mine away after three months either, but you should.)
Never fear, I've found a magical combination that makes a tremendous difference in your lashes and requires two mascaras from the drugstore. So get out your beauty club cards, scour the mags for coupons and head to the CVS for knockout lashes.
Here is what you'll need to get. First, pick up the new Maybelline Mega-Plush. This officially hits stores in June, but I bought it three weeks ago at my CVS so check your shelves. This mascara is really interesting on its own because it's not heavy at all. It is more like a whipped mousse that doesn't clump, and that keeps lashes light and full. All of that is great. But what is genius is the brush.
The brush is springy, thanks to a little divot in the middle.
Why do you want a springy mascara brush? Because when you firmly press it into your lashes, the brush automatically forces its way through to separate them perfectly. It's almost impossible to make this clump.
Then, you'll need Salma Hayek's Ultra-Defining Mascara. This is the thinnest brush released since Clinique launched that bottom lash mascara. It's tiny--but good things come in small packages! This tiny brush packs a wallop and adds an amazing amount of length. It even adds quite a bit of fullness. It contains silk powders that make lashes look longer and thicker, instantly.
For some reason, when you combine the two, it makes for magnificent lashes. It's almost difficult for me to wear glasses with this combo. It's amazing.
To score both of these on the cheap, check for coupons and savings at the bottom of your CVS receipt. If you aren't already a member of their Beauty Club, join now and get discounts galore!
I bought both of these.
