Up Your Top Knot Style With a Super Easy Braid

For days I just don't want to deal with my hair, I'm in love with my top knot. But I get bored easily, if you haven't noticed, so I'm looking for ways to change it up. Of course, you can add a scarf, ribbon, or even a charm. But the easiest way to make your top knot look like you have styling chops is to add a braided headband. This works best with a messy top knot, but only because I'm basically too lazy to create a structured one and hide the band.

Here's how:

1. Make a  messy top knot.
2. Wrap your Dancing With the Stars Braided Headband around the base of your top knot.
3. Make sure the non-braided part of the headband is hidden under the braided part, preferably in the back.
4. Bobby pin down pieces of your messy knot to cover your faux braid if the back is showing.

Instant styling skills! If your hair is highlighted (or if you feel like it) add a braid in a slightly different color than your hair for an extra pop. So easy and so cute! It's a no-brainer for $10. Plus the braid always looks perfect, compared to when I do it myself. Sweet action!

  1. I was wondering if there are Hair Pieces for curly hair. I’m a mixed girl, Mexican and African-American and my case is coming to the point where I can’t hide it anymore. I have hair growing all over my head about 2 to 2 1/2 inches long, while the rest ( about 30%) is still its normal length. I would like to know if this product will also allow me to play sports because I’m a high school athlete and if I can also swim with it. I basically want to know if it’s just like real hair and will these help prevent me from continuing to pull? Thanks!

    1. Hi! There are definitely hair extensions for women with curly hair. Although I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for. It sounds like you have a lot of breakage in your hair and want to cover that up? But it also has to be strong enough to allow you to play sports?

Without seeing your hair, it seems like you might need to change how you are treating your hair and let it grow a bit. They definitely make curly hair pieces, but I'm not sure that is what you actually need. I would talk to your stylist about it.
