Now that my hair is longer, I'm all about dry shampoo and not washing my hair. How does everyone with really long hair do this? My office-mate, Ms. Coach, has supermodel hair way down her back. It takes on a life of its own. It must take an hour to do each morning. As someone used to having a pixie, this is getting to be a rough adjustment and that Dianna Agron haircut is looking cuter by the day.
Considering I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet, I'm trying loads of combinations of products to help my thick, porous hair hold a style, not get heavy, stay clean-feeling and not weigh like I have a ton of stuff on my scalp. It's a tall order, right?
My favorite dry shampoo du jour is Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk Non-Aerosol Spray. I'm talking the squeezey-poof version, not the aerosol version. Here is how this seemingly unwieldly bottle is actually awesome. You close the top and shake the bottle. Then you open the top by turning the cap. Then section off your hair where you want to apply, point the hole in the cap at your hair where you want it to go and squeeze gently. A light mist of dry shampoo will be applied to the area you targeted and not all over the place, as you would think.
It is a white dry shampoo, but blends easily with hair. It makes hair manageable without being too dry and for once, it's hard to over-apply, which is my normal problem with dry shampoo. This has a really light, fresh scent that isn't overpowering, not even a little bit. It seems like it might make a mess, but it actually doesn't. I've actually had this sitting around for a few months now and thought it would be a hot mess to use. Thus, I've avoided it. Turns out it's my new favorite. Even my stylist, a dry shampoo connoisseur, was impressed with how much she liked it.
